Mike Peters, lead vocalist of the Welsh alternative rock band (Initially a punk band) "The Alarm", has been listed on the 2019 honours list awarded an MBE. Key Production would like to congratulate Mike Peters on his MBE honour as it is well deserved for all the charitable causes he has spearheaded from the frontline.
Mike is known as a campaigner for healthcare and established musician who has achieved international success with the group during his illustrious career performing with the likes of Bono and U2, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen. After overcoming lymph cancer in 1996 and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia in 2005, Mike decided to set up the Love Hope Strength Foundations in the US and UK after the success of his sponsored walk up Snowdon, ‘Snowdon Rocks’.
The foundations have raised over £1m for cancer projects through their international trek and events programme. Mike’s Snowdon Rocks, now in its 13th year, has morphed into Snowdonia Rocks and has become a popular annual pilgrimage for a legion of Love Hope Strength supporters, musicians and families affected by cancer. You can support the Love Hope Strength Foundation charities by taking on the 15 Peaks Challenge on Friday 14/06/19. You can also learn more about his charity here: Love Hope Strength Foundation.
“I am completely overwhelmed and just so grateful to have been included in the New Year’s honours list. MBE must stand for a multitude of brilliant efforts because that’s what lies behind everything that I’ve achieved. Not my own efforts, but other people’s. The Love Hope Strength Foundations which I co-founded here and in the USA have saved lives and changed lives over the past decade. This is thanks to the support of hundreds of volunteers, thousands of supporters including our brilliant Alarm fans and a great many musicians, who have got behind the cause. My being awarded this MBE is all down to their collective brilliant efforts. This MBE really is for them.” - Mike Peters
