Karen Emanuel at Inspiring Women: Education and Employers

Our CEO Karen volunteered with Education and Employers/Inspiring the Future, a charity which brings together schools and colleges with volunteers to inspire young people for their career ambitions. The “Inspiring Women” speed networking event was held on Tuesday 15th October at Draper’s Hall to celebrate the charity’s 10th anniversary.

Twenty-four women including our CEO Karen Emanuel spoke with children about the world of work and the different industries they are in. Karen spoke about her start in the manufacturing industry and how Key Production began 29 years ago.

The children were from Brookfield Primary School, Roding Primary School, Sheringham Primary School, Tudor Primary School, Raynham Primary School, Petts Hill Primary School, Carterhatch Junior School and Bow secondary. The students got to guess the career of volunteers with the prop that was bought in by them.

“The students were thrilled to look at and hold some vinyl records and got close with their guesses which included things like “radio DJ”” – Matthew from Education and Employers
