Release of the Month: Frank Turner’s “Songbook” Deluxe Boxset
The best-of Frank Turner collection, Songbook, is filled with a career-spanning selection of Turner's favourite tracks from his 6 albums and a brand new song; ‘There She Is'. The boxset fits Turner's perfect description of ‘Songbook' being both a celebration and reflection of his work as a singer-songwriter to date. Turner is one of the most toured solo modern rock acts with a staggering amount of 2,126 solo shows with a total of 45 countries and has also toured 47 states in the US since 2004.
Prior to Turner's solo career, he was in the post-hardcore band Million Dead, though the life-span of the band was transient it allowed Turner to get a dedicated following in the mid-2000s. In combination with his accredited work ethic, amazing material, and his loyal following, Turner has gone from toilet-circuit touring stops to the nation’s corporate arenas in just over a decade. ‘Songbook' marks a pivotal point in Turner's career as he transitions from heart-on-sleeve, anthemic campfire punk rock to something his true fans anticipate for.
We are delighted to have worked with the London based independent label; Xtra Mile Recordings and Polydor in the making of an accolade of Turner's career so far, a symbol of where Turner has come from musically and where he and his art is heading.
The Deluxe boxset includes 3 LPs, never before seen images featured in the exclusive photobook by Greg Nolan, Rich Russo, Ben Morse and Dan Griffiths as well as a DVD which captures Turner's epic 2000th gig at Nottingham's Rock City in 2016.
