John Grant “Love Is Magic” 12" Deluxe Vinyl Album
Key Production is proud to present our most recent collaboration with Bella Union to produce Love Is Magic, the new album from John Grant released on the 12th of October. This is John's fourth solo album since releasing "Grey Tickles, Black Pressure" back in October 2015. Love Is Magic was Produced by Grant (together with Benge and Paul Alexander) and engineered by Benge at his Cornish studio. “This is closer still to how I’ve always wanted my records to sound, but I didn’t know how to go about it,” Grant states. Bassist Paul Alexander of Denton, Texas maestros Midlake was also a prominent collaborator, renewing a working relationship that began on his "Queen Of Denmark" project in 2010. “Paul trained in music theory at UNT in Denton, Texas with an emphasis in Jazz and I knew he would come up with beautiful harmonies, so I unleashed him on the backing vocals, he comes up with interesting angles rather than the obvious and also plays some of the best bass lines I’ve ever heard. Each record I make is more of an amalgamation of who I am, the more I do this, the more I trust myself, and the closer I get to make what I imagine in my head.” - Grant enthuses of his recording process. John as an artist has overcome many adversities during his career, ranging from abandoning music for five years due to the dismantling of his first band Czars to having a thriving solo carer, chart success and BRIT nomination alongside Eminem and Justin Timberlake. The saga continues with Love Is Magic, the latest instalment of Grant’s progressive story.
